Product Rave...............Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman

So I recently jumped on the Real Techniques Brushes bandwagon and I'm so glad I did. Unfortunately I purchased them before Boots started their 3 for 2 offers : (

I purchased the Starter Set, Core Collection, Stippling Brush and the Foundation Brush.

Here is a little background about the brushes for those of you don't know.
  • They were developed by Samantha Chapman, Professional MUA from Pixiwoo.
  • They are made with Taklon bristles which are smoother than the hair on most other brushes.
  • Taklon is synthetic; it's 100% cruelty-free.
  • Works well with most powders, creams, liquids, mineral makeup, highlighter, and shimmer. Basically I haven't found a product that hasn't worked well with these brushes!
So what are you waiting for, visit Boots now to get them 3 for 2

Nails Nails Nails............No.7 Stay Perfect

My nails never grow, so bright nail polishes are my best friends! Recently I have been using No.7 Stay Perfect. The range of colours are great, they dry quickly and last me about a week! So all in all a great product. These are the ones I am loving right now.
Totally Teal,Vivid Violet, Salsa and Me! Me! Me!

Product Rave.........Nicky Clarke Salon Dryer

I have to admit I am extremely sceptical when it comes to hair dryers claiming to do anything but DRY my hair. Last month my trusty Babyliss hairdryer that I have used for two years completely burnt out on me.

So I took a trip to my local Boots to see what they had to offer. I stood there looking at all the different makes and models and was completely confused on what to purchase. Then I noticed the Nicky Clarke packaging, it is bright and bold and drew me towards the product. I colour my hair a lot so was sceptical as I said before, but still very intrigued by the claim it 'helps prevent colour fade'

                                                        Nicky Clarke Colour PROLONG
                                                               2000 Watt Salon Dryer

Ok so to get to the point, what I like about this dryer........
  • It's lightweight
  • dries hair quickly
  • leaves hair feeling smooth and soft
  • hair looks shiny and healthy
  • It's simple design and easy to use
  • colour looks fresh after a month of styling
So overall I love this dryer and recommend it highly!

I can no longer find this on the Boots website but I have found it at Argos for £19.99!

To YouTube or Not to YouTube?

It all started about three years ago when I discovered the 'Beauty' community on YouTube. I came across it whilst struggling with my liquid liner. Not sure what I was thinking at the time, but I decided to type into Google 'How to apply liquid liner'. I never expected to find a video on such a thing, not even sure who the so called 'Guru' was for that video, but never the less I was hooked on the whole idea and began to search and subscribe to all the beautiful ladies on YouTube.

My fav of all time was Lollipop26. Maybe it's because she is British also, but I loved her reviews, tutorials and always looked forward to see what she had bought on her travels. Unfortunately I believe Laura lost the love and most probably the time to make these videos, as I suspect she is a very busy lady. At least we still have her blog!

Most recently I have discovered Fleur from Fleurdeforce and wonder how I have not discovered her before. She always looks flawless and seems extremely genuine. She is the typical girl next door and her vlogs are extremely entertaining.

If you are looking for expert advice on makeup application or creative ideas for a special occasion, the ladies of Pixiwoo are where you should turn your attention. Sam and Nic are professional Makeup Artists and regularly upload videos which are a must watch!!

Three years on and I still check daily for new videos and try to keep up to date with these and many other subscriptions I have, all the time wishing I would of taken the courage to start these videos myself. So this brings me to this blog post, do I now take the leap into the land of YouTube or is there too many people now discovering and wanting a piece of this very big pie.

I would love to know everyone’s thoughts about YouTube and whether or not I should join this fantastic community.
